Who Directs Environment

「WE shape our buildings; Thereafter they shape us」Winston Churchill said. Architecture can change our life and at the same time it is representative people’ environment ceaselessly. When I was young, architecture looks like so amazing to me. People build a house, live in there and make a family on the real ground. (how?)Like Churchill saying, architecture was closely connected our environment. My first impression of architecture is simple curiosity that how architecture and environment are associated and related is and still I tried to know that relationship more and more. Saying in other words, the simple curiosity makes me be wondered and enjoy studying architecture.
During the last year, I mainly learned conceptual and symbolic representative architecture. Last semester I learned about landscape. The landscape has many meanings widely, for example high and low of ground could be being landscape and even if not ground, every thing that has mutation of height could be also being landscape. I created a new landscape that people can be walking at there using quality and behavior terms of skin. The subject is making「AQUA PARK」. I though how can people move, roam or stay at park and how can people use it and I created new space which people can live and (how?)they can live comfortable. Through this project, I realized architect is directing environment for people instead of them.

For left 4 years to study at Pratt Institute I will be studying step by step about architecture and also I know how I should be studying a lot. I have lots of interesting about environmental architecture especially communal living housing. We are living in excessive individual society but we know people can not live without others. For that reason we need to make opportunity to meet people at home closely. As communal living housing will be increasing, our society might be much more progress in many ways. I want to improve peoples’ environment as an architect. (how?)
The Purpose of architecture is being for the people moreover architecture is greatly influenced to peoples’ life. Thus architect have to feel responsibility to make good architectures for the people. Although my curiosity is started by simple reasons, the curiosity makes me get interesting of architecture more and more. I already know architecture is existed for people and development of society. Now, all I need is effort and passion to study.
