The People
Who Directs Environment

「WE shape our buildings; Thereafter they shape us」Winston Churchill said. He mentioned that architecture can change our life and at the same time it has ceaselessly represented people’s environment. My first impression of architecture is simple curiosity that how architecture and environment are associated with and related in is and still I tried to know that relationship more and more. When I was young, architecture looks like so amazing to me. People build a house, live in there and make a family on the real ground. Like Churchill saying, architecture was closely connected with our environment and life. Therefore I started to believe in the architect could make the better improved environment and building for people.
During the last year, I mainly learned about represented conceptual and symbolic architecture. Using conceptual terms, I made of the Aqua Park (See figure 1.) with creating new landscape. For the first time, I can not understand the meaning of architectural landscape. Because there has many meanings of landscape widely, for examples, the high and low of ground could be being landscape and even if not ground, every thing that has mutation of height could be also being landscape. After creating the new landscape, I had to think the relation between landscape that I made and people’s behavior such as how people can walk, where they want to rest, how they can feel comfortable and if there has a swimming pool, how swimmers want to move after swimming. Through this project, I realized that the architect is directing environment for people instead of them.

And also we can see many problems to becoming an issue such as Japan Teen Angst that people excessively avoid contacting other. Sometimes we could not know who lived in as neighbors. The communal living housing that is considered of organized structures can contact others at home friendly and closely. As communal living housing will be increasing, our society might be much more progress in many beneficial ways. Through this communal living housing concept, I want to improve peoples’ environment as an architect.
I already know architecture is existed for people and development of society. In the other word, architect can help people to live comfortably and conveniently.
